It is a privilege and honour to return to the Presidency of the Football Hall of Fame WA. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the membership of the Hall of Fame for their unwavering support and faith in me and the new Executive Committee. Today marks the start of a new chapter for our organisation.
The Football Hall of Fame WA was the first of its kind established for any sport in Australia in 1996. I joined as Chairman in 2002 and served in that capacity through to 2020. During that time, the Hall of Fame evolved into a respected and prestigious organisation thanks largely to the tireless efforts of its devoted committee members.
While in recent times some of that shine may have been tarnished, the members have had their say in an open and free election which has resulted in the appointment of Penny Hoath, Brett Klucznik and John O’Connell to the Executive Committee. Together we will strive to restore the Hall of Fame to its former glory and reignite the passion for the history of our sport.
At the current time, the Executive Committee consists of only four members. To meet the expectations of the Inductees – our members – and the broader football community, we must fill the three vacant positions on the Executive Committee as soon as possible and also establish three or four sub-committees, the specifics of which are yet to be determined.
If you are interested in joining the Executive Committee, or serving on a sub-committee, please contact us as soon as possible on admin@footballhalloffamewa.com.au.
The Hall of Fame will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026 and a commemorative event is high on the agenda of the entire Executive Committee.
I wish you well and look forward to serving as your President.
Louis Prospero
President, Football Hall of Fame WA
