Robbie Dunn in Conversation with Ashley Morrison

Socceroos defender and Football Hall of Fame inductee Robbie Dunn talks through his days on the playing field with Ashley Morrison.

Scotland-born Robbie is one of Western Australia’s most capped international players, and rates amongst the nation’s most outstanding defenders. He started out locally with Kwinana United and North Perth Croatia before travelling east as a 17-year old to join South Australian club Adelaide Azzurri.

The following year Robbie switched to West Adelaide in the national league where, between 1982 and 1988, he made 167 appearances and scored 22 goals for Adelaide, Preston Makedonia and Melbourne Croatia. He made his Socceroos debut in 1985 and would go on to tally up 25 ‘A’ caps for Australia and feature in 11 other FIFA recognised internationals.

Robbie played seasons for South China and Sarawak, in Hong Kong and Malaysia respectively, prior returning to North Perth Croatia, where he played his final first class game. Surprisingly, he made only a single appearance for the State team, against English side Millwall in 1989.

Robbie was inducted into the Hall of Champions in 2002, and elevated to the Hall of Legends in 2005.
