Respected administrator and Football Hall of Fame WA inductee Roger Lefort looks back on his time in football with Ashley Morrison.
England-born Roger served football in a variety of capacities across an almost 20-year period. He left his homeland in 1982 and first became involved in West Australian football through the junior clubs of Wembley Downs and Scarborough. It didn’t take long for him to progress to the presidency of the Junior Soccer Association of WA, a position he held for five years.
Roger then accepted the position of chief executive with the Soccer Association of WA and, along with association President Lou Ricci, was instrumental in West Australia securing a national league licence. Between 1995 and 2001 he served as General Manager of Perth Glory; his accomplishments include securing several major sponsorship contracts for the national league club as well as the Perth Oval tenancy.
Roger was inducted into the Hall of Recognition in 2005; he is a Life Member of the Junior Soccer Association of WA.
